Humax Freesat Hd box Hanging

I have a Humax FoxsatHD box and it is now in need of a software update. i D/loaded the latest software from Humax website and followed the instructions to upgrade the box via USB. I renamed the file etc. as advised and proceeded to load the software. The screen came up on the TV as predicted on their site but the D/L just hung. It never moved despite waiting for over an hour. The box won't switch off either by the remote control and the menu button on the front of the box doesn't respond either after 1hr and 15mins. i decided to power off the box from the mains and plug it back in as there is no reset button available only to be faced with the same screen suggesting download in progress 0%.................The box is obviously just hanging. Please could anyone advise me on my next step to progress things. . Thankyou

how old is the box
mine did the samed thing last year
ended up taking box back and swopping it for another
as it was only 6 months old
dont you update it over the air waves in the menus
didnt know about humax site

did mine over the airwaves with no probs,only to get the itv hd channel,whoopee now i got 2 hd channels,good picture though

auto search for freesat channels about 154
manual search for none freesat channel about 350
you should get lux tv hd as we

funny thing when i last update my humax i lost central east midlands itv
had it before now comes up as west midlands itv
useing same post code
