looking on google and wikipedia this is a known problem of using the german keyboard and affects windows and linux users alike. so its not an icecrypt problem but a known problem of the operating system , ie:- windows in your case ( so is a computer os problem and not an icecrypt problem )

perhaps you can ftp the files over to the relevant folders on the icecrypt , and chmod to 755 ?

not being able to use an ip address will severely limit your abilities with boxes like these

you may even find a method of entering the ascii code 46 for the full stop , instead of pressing the full stop , or maybe assign the full stop to a little used key ?

you cannot be the first person to have had this full stop problem on a german keyboard layout and you may find the answer on a german computer forum

    update from here _http://www.zyra.org.uk/kcodes.htm

To get a key code to come up, here's what you do:

    1. Hold down the left of spacebar ALT key.

    2. While holding down the ALT key, type in the number of the code on the numeric keypad. This can be any number from 0 to 255. ( 46 or 046 = full stop )

    3. Let go of the ALT key.

just tested this theory in kinkdink,s installer v1.4 and works for me

Unless you have changed the password the password for the icecrypt is blank when using the installer. Alternatively use the Dreambox tools to ftp the files over and to configure the xcam client. I use this and is an easy tool to use.

This problem is probably because you don't have the correct permissions on the "bin" file(s). They need to be 755. others can be 644.
