Apparently it has now been confirmed that Easynet who provide sky with broadband, are partially blocking sites such as Rapidshare. It's to do with the governments drive to stop Internet piracy.

So you will find that one minute it works and a short time later it won't.

I am very annoyed as I am an annual subscriber to Rapidshare.
I collect old tv and radio shows which are out of copyright. Nothing illegal there!

More than likely doing it off their own back, as more people start downloading stuff from these sites to cir***vent any p2p throttling.

BTW, my rapidshare account stoppped working the other day, turns out they had reset the password as somebody had hacked it, then sent me an email a short while later.

    EDGE

Got it working again after looking at [mrbleu500] Post??

When BT are blocking rs, I used to find that if you use HTTPS rather than HTTP it still worked.

Worth a test if your ISP is blocking rs.

Adding the [ S ] Does the Trick

That worked for me also Rabby m8 but for some reason rapidshare stopped the other day and would not work no matter what i done,i loaded the host file and it started straight away and no porobs since.

To use it, go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Right click the hosts file and open it with notepad.

Copy / Paste the list (from the rar file) under the last line of the hosts file.

Press "file" on the hosts list and save it.

I'm with Virgin and what seems to have happened to me is, upto about 3 months ago I could download from Rapidshare and Hotfiles with no problems at all. Now if I download anything at all, they come down, but always corrupt after the first RAR file!! So, you can leave your system downloading 3 movies, each made up from 6 or 7 RAR files, they seemingly download great but UNRAR or winzip sees the files as corrupt.

Is this what you're all getting, or is this a different problem?
