no such thing as future proof. but any one of 3 comes to mind, az premium is getting better slowly, dm800 or clone, lot of people like them even if u can cook eggs on them. new vu+ seems to be comeing along fine and looking at treads it will record 4 channels at once. but chice is yours. just my thoughts.

I love my tm6900hd super. You don't have to fiddle with it too much; It seems well supported and the picture quality of both sd (upscaled) and HD is excellent.

I agree with Joany I have a TM6900HD Supercombo and a SLy HD box.
HD and SD on both is excellent, I cant tell them apart. The Sly hard disc recording is brrilliant though. Just go to the programme you want to record on the 7 day EPG and press record. Thats it!!
I have a Maxtor 500,Gig for the TM, very temperamental.

I found Seagate and Western Digital AV series hard disks to be the best for digital recording as they are quite, fast and runs cool .

    Mvision HD200.
A couple of months ago I decided to get a "better" receiver, so I bought a TM6800 super. It's a good machine, but was no better that my Mvision, in fact wouldn't do some things my Mvison would, so I sent it back.

    I got the 6800HD
The Picture quality is better than my subbed sly box, although the sound seems a bit quiet. - Due to the price this is a good starter HD box (ABOUT £140), but if you want something more long term may not be ideal.
