hi all running fw 7.13p and thought ide try to do a terrestrial scan for the first time, but when i press the yellow button for autoscan nothing happens, any advice please
right ill start at the beginning, looking from the back ive got the aerial plugged into the top left connector and the lead from my tv into the top rf connector in the middle of the tm6900 there is no signal to ther tv and no autoscan working..when i unplug this lead and put it in the bottom rf connector left hand side from back ,i get a picture on my tv but no autoscan terrestrial help please
Are you using a DVB-T antenna?: antenna Supply 5 V: ON
when you browse through the channels, do you get the yellow and blue bricks for level and quality? if not there is something wrong with your reception?
Do you have DVB-T or DVB-T2 reception in your area? If DVB-T2: not working on Technomate = DVB-T
im using the aerial of my tv which has freeview working with a sig quality of 9..so it cant be the aerial, what do you mean DVB-T antenna, all i know is its a wideband televes aerial
just tried it with 5v on, no signal blocks and using the same aerial that plugs into my tv and works fine..whats the difference between dvt and dvt-t2 cheers ,could it be the fw im using
make sure you got terrestial transponders in your channel list

how do you do that alboke
DVB-T or DVB-T2 = broadcast norm. (weblinks click on those)
UK recently switched from dvb-t to dvb-t2, hardware on TM is not DVB-T2, so has nothing to do with fw.
If you have channels where you want to do a terrestrial scan it should be ok. On the Technomate you can't add terrestrial channels, this can only be done with a channel editor.
thanks giga but i think im still on dvb-t as i havent changed my freeview box or tv in a couple of years and they still worr ok,im only after freeview,ah well but thanks
looking at the technomate back:
cable from aerial to top left connector
cable from loop out bottom left connector to TV
Check the channel your using on the TV and see if you have the same channel frequency on technomate?
It should show up immediately with yellow & blue blocks.
Always has worked here whatever FW on technomate.
thanks giga got the aerial in the right place and i use the hdmi out to my tv.i can get to the terrestrial scan in setup but there is no yellow or blue blocks signal blocks
just hooked it up through the rf and the tv wont even pick the tm up with an rf scan ,although it does bypass the tv signal to the tv ahhhh
but when i connect the tv to the rf out it picks the tm up but still no auto scan signal blocks
no technomate RF output on that connector! RF output is on middle connector!
what is odd is when you connect aerial to top connector left and go from the bottom connector to TV you don't get terrestrial TV on your TV with its own tuner?
did you check the used frequency and if its is available on the TM?
are you using 8 Mhz step?
when you connect cable from aerial to the 2nd cable to TV do you get a signal then?
Terrestrial channels: 21 to 69 (freq: 4740 to 8580 Mhz) did you walk throug all of these?
Last edited by Giga; 31-01-2010 at 03:25 PM. Reason: channels 21 to 69
seems like if you save your channel list then check with a editor to see if transponders are there you will then know if its the problem
alternativly try a new channel list pm me if you want mine to try its upto date
for 6900 super.................
thanks giga/alboke but giga when i connect aerial to top connector left and go from the bottom connector to TV i do get the terrestrial TV with the tv own tuner,it just does not find the tm output at all, when i connect the tv to rf out i get the tm output but does not let the tv own tuner work
hi how are you connecting tv to 6900
1. by scart cable
2.hdmi lead
you connect aerial to top left from rear
.. .. .. aerial bottom left to tv
you must also have 1. or 2. connected to tv
and use avi mode on tv remote to change from .. tv.. 6900.. dvd player etc.
still think you have not got transponders in your channel list for 6900
so it will not scan....... even without aerial connected it will scan if transponders are presant
bit will not find anything obviously....
where did you get channel list from ?? it maybe for 6800 and not have transponder in it as are not required.....

Well dont know why he cannot scan in terrestrial channels - I get 49 on my TM6900HD Super! :bravo-009:
recommend you dont use the 5v on as it may burn out your box if you dont have correct amp on your aerial (my box started smoking from vent):nopity:
