Mbile phone unlocking

I boght my wifes LG phone off the net with T-mobile sim. Coverage is so bad round here hat I thought we would try Tescos SIM (O2) at 97p with cheaper calls. Stuck the new sim in got "INSERT RIGHT SIM CARD" Cant get any further than "ENTER NCK" Apparently it needs unlocking.
Nothing about this in Tescos instructions. Rang T-mobile and they want £15 for a code and it will take a month??
The nice Indian lady at T-mobile did say there was a cheaper way by going to ARGOS who will do it in a day for £5.
Has anyone done this and will argos do phones other than their own?

Just found a site online that does it for £2.99 in 24 hours. Let you know the results.
I think Tesco should put on their literature that you may got a charge from your provider to use Tescos Sim.

Unfortunately they could not unlock my phone. Apparently some phones can only be unlocked by the provider. Thay suggested trying a mobile shop but did'nt hold out much hope. They are paypal and have promised a refund. Shame!
Wife refuses to pay £15 to T-mobile so we will keep it till it breaks.:respect-060:
