Depends on what you want to do with blindscan?
Best would be to compare these 2 on the same dish and lnb to make your conclusion.
What Technomate 6800? There 2 models 6800 HD and 6800 HD Super

The TM6900 super is excellent for blind scan. My only reservation is for channels with very low SRs (below 1000) which is where TM 1000 series & TM5200 series is superior with a dedicated option for blind scanning for low SRs. 95% of channels are above an SR1000 so it is not a great issue.

    Hi

If talking about blind scan it would help a lot if measuring time how long it will take. And what satellite.

    Also settings:
Depending upon your receiver are you able to limit symbol rates /freqs
(5MHZ,4MHZ,3MHZ,2MHZ,1MHZ and so on..).Please inform this also from Your tests

Then it will give somekind of idea are they ok for feed hunting...

(An other thing is how well they are locking to channels/tuner...)

Othewise can be pretty difficult to compare different receivers...

(Only example, I can give more spesific ones also): about 3-8min (12,5w,8w,5w,0,8w,5E,7E.10E,16E) with old (not usb-model)CT-2100 when SR limited under 7500

The current Technomate 6000 series have a fast hardware blind scan and can do a full frequency scan in about 20 minuets (I remember my first blind scan was a software blind scan which you would leave overnight to complete it's scan!). By knowing the satellite by referring to Lyngsat, King of Sat, Flysat etc., you can define which range of frequencies to scan and which polarity which considerably speeds up the scanning process. It is not possible to select which SR ranges to scan on the TM6900 super and TM6800 super however these receivers will blind scan for DVB-S2 channels successfully which is important with the increasing number of channels/ feeds using this method of of transmission. Although the frequency interval is locked to 4mhz when scanning, they do pick up channels close together with the same perimeters. Low SRs (below 2000) are often missed by the blind search, but the receiver locks into these channels with ease once the correct parameters are input. Sensitivity is better than any other make of receiver I have tried (Echostar, Nokia, Manhattans of 5 years ago Azbox). The TM5200 does have a slight edge in sensitivity. I have had this running on the same twin LNB as the TM6900 to compare the results on marginal signals.

I will try to answer any specific questions on capability is specific cir***stances if there is a request for such information. I am using a 1.2m Fibo gregorian dish in Central Scotland and love hunting for feeds.
