    80cm or 100cm Triax dish ?

    Hi all,

I am going to replace my Sly dish with a larger fixed dish, so that I can put two lnb's on a Triax multi-lnb bracket to get Sly 28E and Hotbird 13E for KBS World for the Missus (This frees up my motorised dish for me !!).

My question is, will an 80cm dish be big enough for this, or should I fit a 1m dish ? I'm in the North Nottingham area.

I'm thinking that a 1m dish will look a bit large stuck on the side of the house near the front, but is an 80cm dish big enough ???

The 80 cm triax will be easily big enough, but a thing to bear in mind, is that if you want to add other sats at a later date you will need to go bigger.

If you want to add 1w you will need to go to a 1 metre, and if you want to add 16 east you can just about do it with a 1 metre using single lnbs.
With an 80 you will need to use a 3 degree monoblock. (not enough space on the triax bracket)

OR, if you really only need Hotbird, keep your existing sky(28e) dish and use another sky dish for hotbird and diseqc them together.......

    TD - 4 LNB Multi Block 300727
A Multi-Block (3º to 20º) for four Ø40 mm LNBs with min. 4 degrees between the satellite positions is available for the TD-series. (TD110 or TD88)
price difference between the 2 is +- 25£

    Sorted !

Thanks for that guys. The fixed dish will only be for a few satellites, so I think an 80cm dish is on the cards.

I still have my 1m motorised dish in the back garden for everything else, and I'm aware there is a limitation on the number of dishes on a house (and my neighbours are likely to check !)
