    google earth question.

had a request from another site. do any of you guys know how to set up a google earth type world map where you can put flags/pins in to pinpoint where people have been spotted.
ie the guy wants to mark out places around the world where fc shirts have been spotted. suppose this idea can be used for all sorts. bit like criminologists use to flag up crimes in areas.

    thanks

Am not quite sure what you mean?

Google earth as far as I know cannot be displayed in the mercartor ( flat plan )... As this is an untrue projection ( flattened ) of the world,,

If you use google earth site then do as asasas says!!

I take it He wants to display on the website as well, so anybody can view it.....if so, you will need something like this. Never used it, so can't help with it I'm afraid.

MapBuilder lets you tag locations on a map and publish it on your own site.
Mapping is now easier than ever. It's free.
    Code:
    http://www.mapbuilder.net/

    Hi Dave,

Tried mapbuilder on my address/location and it was worse than the result that I get with google earth,,,, zoomed in with map builder swapped between satelitte and map but no detail of my house located,,, google earth is much better!!!!!!

PS, I live in the boonies of scandinavia, so that maybe the reason!!!!

    Regards
