Who are these people who attack satellite related forums?
Well, who has the most to gain from stopping people discussing ways of receiving channels/packages without paying subscriptions?
It makes you wonder, doesn't it.......................

How many of us would just roll over and pay up if the boards went away?
Not so many I'd have thought, and all it would do is drive the hobby deeper underground. After all, there are peeps involved in all manner of highly criminal activities way more illegal than this who congregate online almost with impunity (pedos, cc scammers, virus writers etc...). The payback for running a DDOS attack would be pretty small for most broadcasters (not to mention highly illegal, and therefore risky) so I would bet on the source of these attacks are from within the scene rather than outside. The only organisations outside the broadcast community with the resources to break crypto systems are organised crims, and a few STB manufacturers... Look no further than these, I would bet
Plus the crypto-code producers themselves, not to mention those involved with them, sometimes having the same owner... No need for conspiracy theories here - just follow the interests...
Speaking of such attacks, is it me or is the board slower? Also has Pimps now been removed - couldn't get in a few moments ago?
It's a bit like many rears ago, we'd have to send our cards off to be re-programmed making money for some guys. So, TV company's would change codes often, making these guys even more money !.
If they'd kept the same codes for a year these blokes wouldn't have made money. Odd really.
MrBlue is right, even if 1west wasn't running, I still wouldn't pay SŁy.
If a site becomes a threat to your $$$ then it gets taken down.
Illegal but got to be proven.
Peer to peer DDos very hard to find the suspects.
There are ways to prevent this but you need a really good server provider but all cost extra $$$ and this is hard for a site like this as they only receive a limited income.
If i had a wild punt i would say somebody like DMedia would not be happy that a new hd sat box thats lots cheaper than dm8000 seems to be catching and may take a big market share from them
