I think its the declination angle

    Hello
I have just concreted a pole in for my dish. The mount is all home made but been working fine for years. The problem is how do I work out what the declination angle is for my location. I think its the declination angle, anyway I mean the angle the plane the dish rotates in with respect to vertical and I made it adjustable. Hope this makes sense.
By the way dont use scaffold tube for the mount, it is surprisingly flexible, Im going to have to brace it.
    Thanks

Depends what length of pole your using as reagrds flexible really, mine is only a few feet long and is quite solid.
As long as the pole is perfectly upright you've got a good start.

I used to have a guide I wrote on setting a dish up from scratch which i wrote a few years back, I'll see if I can dig it out again.

90 - latitude gives you the elevation on the motor. set the dish for your due south sat, (1w in most of uk) and adjust the dish elevation (declination) for best signal.

Make sure your pole is dead plumb.

If you have problems with your ground mounted pole flexing, fill it with a strong concrete mix but make sure you poke it down well.

    thanks All
That will definately sort it out, will have a go this morning.
The flexing doesnt seem too bad so far but taking the dish off the pole cant be done as I nearly did myself an injury putting it on.
    Thanks for all the help
