The 6900 super is not a bad box - good HD and patching and softcam good. havent yet cracked the 8281 but the external Western digital hard drive is a dream - just plug and play and no probs with HD. It will do till the DM 8000 comes down by a tenner !! - cheers - brain

Well with my external WD drive it doesn't work like a dream. I think I've recorded something when I haven't. Not tried latest patch (674) though so maybe less temperamental.

I don't either should have a problem with the 30000 symbol rate HD channels. Never been a problem with my TM 6900 super HD but then I'm using an M2+ card not a diablo cam.

Non-super has a more sensitive tuner (although latest patch for the super version claims improved sensitivity with weak signals). Could be a factor for some.

I've got a 6900 HD Super Combo. It works well. I use a Diablo 2.3 non wi-fi cam in it with no problems. As far as I understand it, the 30,000 SR problem only occurs with the Diablo wi-fi setup. Mine works well on all signal rates. I use a Buffalo I terrabyte external hard drive for recording, and that seems to work well. The only problem I've had with the hard drive is when I've updated the software. It tends to to not recognise any recordings already on the drive after the software has been updated, requiring a format of the drive and so losing anything that was on it. Apart from that and a few teething problems I haven't had any trouble with it. Hope this helps.

    Regards, JT.

On a 674 patch: Issue I have with WD My Book Home Edition 500 GB: First have to power the STB and when it is started the power for the USB HD. eSATA does not work with this combination. I have made a recording for arround 3H15 of 7.0 GB. Have not tryed the timer out yet.

    Hi Guys
i have changed the software to from 667 through to 674 and no probs with the Hard Disc - all records well and also HD as said above. Are you changing the volume number - my HD is 0 and this is also often the thing overlooked when loading new software. If it is properly in sync and installed you should get a sequence 'pvr not ready and then pvr ready. I cant remember how i formatted it - probably on the box, but certainly it works well in all formats. Timer also very efficient if a shade complicated in sequence. Cheers - brain

Yes I noticed that message with the 674 patch. I don't recall seeing it with earlier patches.

The PVR Ready message started on the 672 patch M8 - I did report it elsewhere!!:respect-050:

Almost exactly my set-up M8 - only difference is I dont NEED a cam as my M2+ card gives me Conax 1W and the 674 patch all the rest, without the need for a cam!:respect-050:
