The Triple Dragon is a fine receiver mate Linux based with built in spec-trum analyzer to help you find the satellites in orbit. As for support you get key updates usually from cpluscode for the Triple Dragon and images usually come from unofficial sources like TDMAN he posts them out and are quite good to my understanding.

I don't have one myself from what I know it is a proper enthusiast receiver with a lot of potential and the reports are great supposed to be one of the best SD receivers out there and you can use CCCAM with this machine also which is a big plus side as well.

Personally this receiver is very under rated since the picture and sound quality is second to none and is very sad since software support is limited as well.

Hope my little info help mate.

    Guide from Hi-Sat:
What follows will describe in detail and step by step how to load a Triple Dragon with TDMAN 9B and will work for all TD’s no matter how old or new and assumes that your software may be very old or very new in fact your TD can be in any state and you should be able to use these instructions

WHY – because you should be using this version of software – it’s better than all before it in my opinion obviously:

    What will you need

    1) Triple Dragon DBS-3000CNCIE
    2) Connection to your home network (and the internet via your router)
    3) TDTool V1.02
    4) TDMAN 9B download this to your desktop it’s a RAR file so you will need to use WINRAR to extract the file called tdimage.bin to your desktop

With TDMAN9B you can download settings, Keys and newer software all from this version

So here is what to do
    1) Run the TDTool .exe program on your PC
    2) If you can’t see the tdimage.bin in the white box - Click “select image path” and set the path to your desktop (usually C:\Do***ents and settings\[owner of the PC’s Name or Your name]\desktop
    3) When you have selected this path click on the “Speichern” Button … you should now see the image name in the left hand box
    4) Remove any CAMs and CARDs from your TD – remove any USB stick only have the TD connected to your network
    5) Remove the Power cable from the TD
    6) PRESS the “<” and “return” (centre) buttons together on the front of the TD whilst putting the Power cable back into the rear of the receiver KEEP THOSE BUTTONS PRESSED UNTIL YOU SEE THE “*” (astrix) in the bottom right of the TD display – now release the buttons
    7) Press “V” down button tomove the Highlight down to “Erase/Init VAR-PART” press ENTER (centre button) (this will clear your var partition
    8 ) Go to network set-up
    9) Set RIP (remote IP to that of your PC – LOOK at Triple Dragon Tool it reads “Local IP’s” this number is the IP address of your PC and this number must be in the TD use the enter button and the up and down key to change the RIP address to read the same as the computers IP address (for example if your PC’s Local IP address is “192.168.1.101” then this must be the number in RIP on the TD
    10) set the LIP on the TD to read any number in the same family as your PC so in this example your TD would have to have an IP address “192.168.1.XXX” were XXX can be any number between 1 and 255 but I recommend something obsure like 123
    11) After changing the IP numbers use the Exit button [top right] and go to SAVE CHANGES option and press Enter(OK)(centre button
    12) On triple tool click option and set Edit Triple IP to read the same as the IP you saved for the TD – in this example 192.168.1.123
    13) Now on the TD go to Upgrade software
    14) If you have done everything correctly to this point the image will now be pulled across from your PC to your TD and you will be asked if you want to “FLASH this Image” – just press Enter, OK button
    15) The image will now load to your TD and eventually you will select “English” language (BLUE - don't load settings at this time)
    16) (optional) Now I set my preferences which are as follows you can choose your own or copy mine…Menu> system set-up> language selection> I set primary soundtrack to English and same for secondary soundtrack – I now go to OSD settings and choose my preferences here for me this means choosing OSD settings Transarency 10% show background image no I leave the rest as is….In channel list settings I change channel list mode to “2 columns with EPG” and satellite sorting to “by position” I now go back to Video Set-Up I change TV aspect ratio to Automatic – in the unlikely event that you connect your TD to a UHF aerial set the UHF modulator broadcast system to “I” (for UK users) change parental control to suit YOUR preference
    17) Choose Menu>system set-up>more system set-up>network configuration>buit-in Network Interface change to DHCP save configuration NOW exit count to 10 seconds and then re-enter sub menu to check that your TD has been allocated an IP address by DHCP this one will be different from the one you elected to use earlier (usually)
18 ) Now go to Main Menu>Extras go to Download settings green button to download catalog then OK over HI-SAT ROTOR settings etc.and Green for Yes
    19) Now go to Main Menu> Extras go to third page Software Update OK then yellow button to download latest keys
    20) If you have a hard drive go to Menu>systemset-up>more system set-up>Harddisk>installation
    21) Now select Format system partition #1 now OK

Well done your box now has the latest image the latest keys and ***** settings – Enjoy

    Additional notes:-

HI-SAT settings include Rotor set-up they will change your Longitude and Latitude settings so these must be re-configured

There are many ways to find out your Longitude and Latitude but when you know then do the following

    1) press Menu> Installation> Rotor Installation > Longitude now enter your Longitude in Tenths – for example if you Longitude is 3.0 West then you must enter 30 and press the Red hand (underneath the 9 on your remote control) for W
    2) now set your Latitude in a similar way
Thanks to Hi-sat for the Triple Dragon Guide
