    fan in 8000

    was thinking of adding a fan to the 8000 as i see what looks like a point for it behind the hard drive has anyone set one up yet and were did they get it from thanks

    Yes I have one on mine don`t think I really need it, the 8000 seems to run cool not like the 7000.

    Mine is just stuck over the vents with double sided foam tape.

    If use the HDD power wires, connect the fan black wire to the hdd power connecter red wire, and the fan red wire to the power connecter yellow wire, the fan will run at 7 Volts it will be quiet and restart after every reboot

    was looking to put it in side the 8000 if you look in side there is a place for it be hind the hard drive to mont it

    Yes I Know I use a bigger fan than would go in there

    Hello,

    Any news about, in How to activate the Internal Fan connector ?

    The fan runs for a second (when booting), and stops After !

    I am sure someone will correct me on this but the fan will start up when booting up but only reactivate when the temperature rises above a fixed setting....

    Many computer CPU's operate in this fashion also but REMEMBER where ever a fan operates to cool down by sucking in cold air it will also draw in any DUST that is in the Room into your STB. Which over a period of time makes it run Hotter due to a layer of insulation(Dust) covering the boards.....
